Conflicts of Interest
Jurnal FisTa: Fisika dan Terapannya is committed to maintaining transparency, objectivity, and integrity throughout the research and publication process. All authors, editors, and reviewers are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may influence the conduct, evaluation, or publication of scholarly work.
A conflict of interest arises when financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships could compromise, or reasonably be perceived to compromise, an individual's objectivity and professional judgment.
Conflicts of Interest for Authors
Authors must disclose all relevant relationships or circumstances that could influence the research process, interpretation of findings, or presentation of results. These may include financial support, employment, consulting arrangements, institutional affiliations, personal relationships, or other interests related to the submitted manuscript.
Authors must also disclose research funding sources and the role of funders, where applicable, in the study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, manuscript preparation, or publication decisions.
A conflict of interest declaration should be included in the manuscript. If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should state: "The authors declare no conflicts of interest."
Conflicts of Interest for Editors
Editors must evaluate manuscripts fairly and independently, without being influenced by personal, financial, professional, or institutional interests.
Editors must not handle manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest, including manuscripts submitted by close collaborators, family members, or individuals with whom they have relationships that may compromise impartiality.
When a conflict of interest is identified, responsibility for handling the manuscript must be assigned to another qualified editor who has no relevant conflict of interest.
Conflicts of Interest for Reviewers
Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment. These may include financial interests, personal relationships, professional competition, recent research collaborations, or other circumstances that could affect their impartiality.
Reviewers who have a conflict of interest must inform the editor and decline the review assignment when their objectivity may be compromised.
Reviewers are expected to provide independent and objective evaluations based solely on the scientific quality, originality, and relevance of the manuscript.
Disclosure and Management of Conflicts of Interest
The editorial team will evaluate disclosed conflicts of interest and determine appropriate measures to maintain the integrity and fairness of the publication process.
Disclosure of a conflict of interest does not automatically result in manuscript rejection. However, failure to disclose relevant conflicts may require further editorial assessment and corrective action.
If an undisclosed conflict of interest is identified after publication, the journal may investigate the matter and take appropriate action, including issuing a correction or other editorial notice when necessary.
